Around Madrid – 25th April-4th May 2015

A day in Madrid followed by eight days circling Madrid and visiting:
Segovia – huge Roman aqueduct & alcazaba
Salamanca – beautiful architecture throughout this university town
Avila – walled town
Toledo – stunning views of the town from the opposite bank of the river
Consuegra – windmills
Aranjuez – Palacio Real
Chinchon – the town ‘square’ is actually circular and doubles as a bull-ring
Cuenca – the ‘hanging houses’ are what it’s famous for but the real star is the gorge
El Ciudad Encantada – a very pleasant walk through weird rock formations
